DEAR MOMMA: A Love Letter

I am delighted to be working with long-time collaborator Megan Sweigert on a workshop of the new play she wrote, DEAR MOMMA: A Love Letter.  The play features a greek chorus of Megans, excavating the life of Megan's mother who left this world too soon.  DEAR MOMMA will perform at the Alberta Little Church this Jan 30-Feb 8 as part of Portland's Fertile Ground Festival of New Work.  Stay tuned for more details soon!

Jewish Theatre Collaborative studies narrative adaptation

This past weekend, I organized a two-day masterclass workshop for the Jewish Theatre Collaborative acting ensemble and core company with Book-It Repertory Theatre's Co-Artistic Director Jane Jones.  Jane has been a mentor and inspiration to me for a number of years, and I had the privilege of working with her at Book-It when I interned there in 2011.  We spent the full day on Saturday learning about how to bring point-of-view to narrative in a way that makes it as active as possible onstage.  Sunday, we went to task adapting poems, letters, and scenes from novels for performance.  Check out Book-It Repertory Theatre's wonderful work at http://book-it.org.
